New Characters in Town!

So, we have a lot of new people to put in the characters page, let’s start with the Dynamic Duo (of Disaster) Smith & Wilson: proof that Boringville’s hiring standards are ‘flexible.’ Smith’s the kind of guy who’d sell his own shadow for a promotion, while Wilson’s the kind of guy who’d hold the flashlight—if he could figure out which end turns on. Together, they’re a walking, talking public service announcement for why you should always read the fine print.

This page introduces a character who’s going to bring us so much joy!

He’s a troubadour—or better yet, a “TRAPadour”—and in italian (my language) his name is just perfect: Roland “Trotto”.
In Italian, “trotto” means “trot,” which is spot-on for a donkey, but it’s also a mashup of “TR” and “otto” (Italian for “8“). That makes his full name sound like “Roland TR-8“, the legendary drum machine that shaped the sound of rap—and ties right back to his nature as a modern-day minstrel, a TRAP-adour!

Now, in English, I’m not sure how to replicate this wordplay. The best I’ve come up with is “Roland T-rate,” but I’m not sure how well it evokes the music console or if it even works—so help me out!

Welcome to the Woodland

ITW is a fantasy-comedy comic updated every Sunday.

This comic tells, as the ancient scrolls have preserved for us, the tale of a time lost to the mists of legend—when the earth teemed with creatures both wondrous and terrible, when nature ruled wild and untamed, and peril lurked in every shadow. In this age, magic was not mere myth but a living, breathing force—both awe-inspiring and dreadful. Amidst this chaos, an unlikely hero, bound by fate to a fellowship of the most extraordinary allies, rose to shoulder the burden of saving the world… as such things have always been.

This comic is created entirely with Procreate, while the speech balloons and text are added using InDesign.

My English isn’t perfect, so if you spot any weird phrasing or mistakes, just let me know!

And yeah, hit me with your thoughts—I’d love to hear what you think.

Enjoy the read!
